CORVINUS
Here we describe our product “CORVINUS” – the innovative contrast vision panel. It can be ideally used with the LUVIS mini:
- Stick four magnetic adhesive strips on the back of the board
- Insert the panel into the LUVIS mini
- Switch on LUVIS mini and check contrast vision without errors
In the design, the research team followed the specifications of DIN EN ISO 8596 – it describes the conditions under which visual acuity and contrast vision tests must be performed.
In contrast to conventional contrast vision panels, the CORVINUS brings some decisive improvements:
– Landolt rings lower the rate probability
– Special lamination avoids reflections on the surface, as well as permanent contamination
– The optotypes are printed in full color tones, which results in greater edge sharpness of the optotypes
Conventional contrast vision panels usually carry letters or numbers, which are easier for a subject to remember. Also, they are not laminated. This can create a reflection on the optotype in non-standard lighting, making it easier to detect. In addition, it is not easy to clean conventional contrast vision panels because of the risk of damaging the print. Previous contrast vision panels are also screen-printed, which is why a slight blurring occurs on round edges. A low contrast value must be printed here by many small dots lying close together. On the CORVINUS, however, the entire optotype is printed, and the edge is enormously sharp.
