From theory to practice
At this point we would like to introduce ourselves briefly. The project group “LUVIS” consists on the one hand of the research team at the STZ eyetrial, at the Eye Hospital Tübingen. On the other hand, the entrepreneurs of the company VISUS from Herrenberg belong to us.
The team at the eye clinic originally launched the project after encountering a lack of standards in contrast vision testing worldwide. The research group of ophthalmologists, neurologists, engineers, and management assistants handles the development side of the project.
At VISUS, the main focus is on sales and marketing of LUVIS products. With its logistics operations based in Herrenberg, the family-owned company already supported the project during the initial sales of the first large LUVIS units and contributed the “finishing touches” to the design of the LUVIS mini to make it even more marketable.
Together, the two teams complement each other to form a single unit, so that all important key areas are covered…
The project members introduce themselves
I market the LUVIS products through our company "VISUS" and coordinate the project together with the Tübingen researchers.
As a research ophthalmologist, I recognized the professional need for LUVIS products and established the requirements for development.
As founder of "VISUS" I accompany the project team from an optometric point of view and give feedback on the use in practice.
As head of the Steinbeis Transfer Center, I initiated the project with my dream and laid the foundation for the product.
The technical design of the LUVIS devices originates from my work. I take care of production planning and check ISO standards.
I take care of the administration of the project and organized the distribution for the first large LUVIS devices.
